The sun shone very intense as though the sea could be dry. The wind and the wave blew gently, and doves alighted on the The Flying Dutchman ship's screen. Momoko was playing with her compass which pointer went around in circles without indicating one certain direction. She stood above deck and yawned one or two times.
Suddenly her compass pointer stopped and pointed to one direction, to the north-east.
As though being aroused from her daydreaming, her eyes at once stared into her compass sharply.
"Look! There's an island there!" Momoko heard one of her crews shouted.
"An island? Come on, mates! We'll immediately approach the island because I see there are secrets and a big adventure wait us there!" shouted Momo.
The ship moved and headed towards the island, until it's seen clearer. Evidently this island had wings! Momoko then heard the wind blew around the area, as though sounding like "Muffin... Muffin... Muffin..." Possibly she heard mistakenly. She was indeed in hungry, but they ought to bread supplies that increasingly diminished.
But after repeatedly listened to the sound, she was sure that she shouldn't be wrong. The wind sounded and whispered "Muffin... muffin..."
"Aye! Pirates, my crews! We're ready to stop there! Prepare the anchor and reduce the screen!"
"Miss Halliwell.. Miss Halliwell..." several gorgeous, handsome, six-packed men surrounding Ireth Halliwell on a huge room decorated with golden colors. Those men were serving what-so-called Miss Halliwell with food, drinks, or even massage.
"Hmm... This should go forever. I never felt better than this," sighed Ireth. The gentle touch of massage from a man made her felt pleasant and suddenly forgetting all of the troubles she had. But when of the men wrongly dropped a jar of water over her face...
"Aww!" Ireth screamed. It was only a dream, the water that actually got her face wet was her captain's drool. She heard her saying something like 'an island' and 'let's approach'. "Darn.. goodbye handsome men."
"Capt'n.. Capt'n.. Yeh said we were approaching an island?" Ireth asked but she was ignored as her captain told the crew to prepare the anchor.
Bored, frustrated and near delirium, Rosa had had enough of this ship. Her captain was apparently mesmerized by her ill-functionning compass while the ship's first mate was drooling in her sleep and every so often softly moaned something about wanting another drink.
A lack of fresh water caused Rosa herself to hallucinate a bit. From her post near the crow's nest, she could have sworn she haid seen something fluttering nearby. Having nothing better to do, she decided to investigate a bit more.
Seeing that the fluttering object was heading towards the front of the ship, she swung on the rigging that led away from the Main top sail. From there she slid down the fore topmast until she reached the Gaff above the fore sail. From there she grabbed hold of the rigging leading to the Bowspirit. She could see the odd fluttering just below her, almost within her reach. She stretched out her arm as far as she could. Only few more inches, she thought, that's all I need... I've almost got it.
Just as she was about to grasp the unknown fluttering object, Rosa heard a lound voice announcing an island up ahead. In her surprise, Rosa somehow lost her grip on the rigging and ended up hanging upside down from it, her left ankle having gotten tangled it the rigging.
"Capt'n... Capt'n... anyone... someone help me down from here" she cried out.
Still frowning being ignored by her captain, Ireth heard something else. It was the sound of one of her crews calling out for help. Ireth ran away quickly to where the sound came from.
"...someone help me down from here," cried the voice.
Soon as Ireth arrived she saw Rosa was tangled, dangling from a rigging. Half bursting with laugh, Ireth reached the rigging and tried to let loose it.
"Rosa... Rosa... what the heck did yeh do until yer like this," commented Ireth. "Hold still.. this rigging is pretty tricky thing to off.."
Momo waited the crews to drop the anchor for a minute or two. Her smart and quarrelsome parrot, Acer (which meant "eager" in Latin), flyed and settled on her shoulder. But it has been three minutes and there was no sign of the ship to slow down its speed and narrowed it to the beach. So, she decided to turn her head off her compass and looked what happened on her back.
"Rosa, yeh did that jungglish-swinging again?" Momo added, "Yeh've done that hundreds of time and I've forbidden yeh thousands of time. Yeh may break ou' masts and have us sail forever in th' ocean!"
Though saying that, Momo still helped Ireth for helping Rosa and let her free from the rigging. At the background, Momo could hear Acer laughing loudly. After a struggle for about five minutes, Rosa at last got free from the rigging. She saw Rosa's ankle was red and went bluish by now.
"Acer, take me a small cloth!" Momo asked her parrot. "Yeh'd need to bandage yer ankle, Rose! And, Ireth... Where's th' rest crews? Sleeping, eh? OOOYYY!!! Pirates, wake uppp!!!"
"Ack.. Ireth.. help me down", cried Rosanna when she saw her first mate approaching below her. As Ireth walked towards her, Rosa wiggled her leg around trying to free herself from the grips of the rigging.
"Rosa... Rosa... what the heck did yeh do until yer like this," she heard Ireth ask. "I saw something shinny and shimmery down here and I came to investigate.. but I lost my grip... and... ", Rosa answered sheepishly.
Rosa tried to relax her leg a bit in order to help Ireth free it from the rigging. But this was useless once the ship's captain showed up. Rosa knew that she had disobeyed her captain by swinging on the ship's rigging... AGAIN! She really didn't want to have to walk the plank... she was afraid of sharks!
After a few minutes of wrestling with the rigging, the ship's crew managed to release poor Rosa from her dangling position. As she fell to the ground with a thump, Rosa rubbed her sore ankle. She looked up to her Capt'n and asked... "So about this island... can I come too this time", since the last time she had been punished for misbehaving on the ship.
Loosing a rigging was pretty hard, but Ireth got some help when her captain finally realised that one of her crews was tangled. Anyway, Rosa seemed to did it intentionally, so Captain Momo kind of joking sarcastically to her by telling her--in short--to walk the plank. Well, that seems pretty scary. But Captain Momo never could really ask her crews to jump off the ship. Because she still needed them, in advance.
Finally when Rosa came down with her ankle bruised by now, the three of them could have a nice chat. While Captain Momo asked her faithful parrot to fetch a small cloth, Rosa wondered if she could come down to the island this time. Before the captain answered, Ireth hurrily said, "Rosa.. yer punished again because yer juggling again. So now yeh hafta clean the deck!" But Ireth said that with giggling and in a funny expression.
"Anyway, I'm going to throw the anchor. If there are any of the crews awaken, please tell them to help me. If there aren't any, it's their loss. They can't go down to the island. RIte, Capt'n?"
"Do yeh feel better, Rosa?" Momo looked at her ankle. "Can yeh help us teh throw the anchor? We need t' throw it now..." She added, "Or we have to pass this oh-so-I-think-wonderful-mysterious island which-had-treausers-if-I-am-not-wrong."
Momo walked to the anchor and tried hard to pull up it. Her face became red and sweat came down under her pirate hat. Oh, is it this heavy? She just noticed it after hundred of times she only asked her crews to do so.
Thanks, God, Ireth seems like want teh help me. Momo saw Ireth came closer. She still had struggle with the anchor and she seemed that she has forgotten at all the she was a witch. How come she don't try any spell for pulling up the anchor?
Tala awoke to the sounds of the crew above her and some odd voice whispering "muffin...muffin..." in her ear. Rubbing sleep from her eyes the dark haired girl slipped her way from out of her bunk and onto the deck where Momo and Ireth were trying to get the anchor down. Tala stifled a yawn. Over the past few days she had taken night watch and as such had reverted to sleeping during the day, the sun now seemed overly bright compared to the stars, but Tala shrugged it off as she stumbled slowly over to her captain and first mate.
"Aye." She grunted, her voice still held the dregs of sleep in it. "Wants 'ome 'elp?" the words slurring together. Tala shook her head and blinked her eyes a few times before she repeated her offer. "Want some help?" She offered a perky morning grin which quickly fell, she was not a morning person. As she moved to help with the anchor she asked "Does anyone else really want some muffins?"
Ireth was still in the middle of struggle with pulling the anchor when her captain who was beside her suddenly stared at her almost blankly. But it was only a second to happened. Maybe her captain reminded to something when she saw her pulling the anchor.
"This is a heavy stuff, indeed. I just want to pull it manually, because I think I need some exercise. Don't you think, Capt'n?" Ireth said. She still pulled the anchor despite her being sweaty already now.
Not so far from them, one of their crews finally awoke. Tala with her sleepy look came over and offered if she could help with anything. But Tala's last statement tickled Ireth a bit.
"'Does anyone else really want muffin'? Tala... yer dreaming. Wash yer face and get yer hands working over here. And, no, noone else want muffin. That muffin came from the island ahead of us. So if yeh wanna go down from this ship, hurry act and help us."
"Ah! It's good t' see yeh wake up, Tala. Yeh did wake up in an exact time." Momo said. "Now, pull up the anchor first. Toge'her! One... Two... THREE!"
Together, the three of them pulled up the anchor and it showed a good job that the anchor, at last, has pulled up. Momo conducted both Ireth and Tala to move at one of the corner of the ship where they'd throw the anchor at. Her quarrelsome parrot, Acer, spoke up loudly, "One, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, jack, queen, king... one, two, ..." Acer repeated counting and it went even louder and louder.
Still struggling with the anchor with red face and sweat cloth, Momo shouted at everyone in the ship, "One of you, please take a rope for us to get down here, while we try to throw the anchor. We'll get down t' the island with it."
"Well, then I'll get the rope, Cap'tn.." Ireth said and moved her feet away. She went to the upper deck near the wheel and fetched a rope there. In a minute or so, she had returned to her captain again and ready to fall the rope to the water.
"'Ere yeh go, Capt'n. I'll tie 'em up first," she said again before tying the rope tightly to one of the ship's end. She double checked the rope and then said to her captain, "All set, Capt'n. We're ready to down. But o' course, let's throw the anchor first."
The funny thing was, Acer kept counting one-two-three-jack-queen-king until now. Ireth laughed at the noisy bird.
"Acer! Yeh shud stop twittering. Yeh shud've made yerself more useful. Like, get Capt'n Momo water or get ME water!"
