Cast and Crew and Logistics

Location:
Being our first movie, we have chosen a cheaper filming location than others, near the Vistula River in Warsaw, Poland.

Stars:
For our two leads we have chosen Victoria Justice as Ariel (left) and Ariana Grande as Jaci (right). They already work together in the Nickelodeon show, Victorious. Mermaids must be able to sing, after all.

Soundtrack:
We are going with the Beauxbaton's theme (or similar) as an insert. There will be using a mix of Victoria Justice songs and at least one by Taylor Swift to appeal to our teen fan base. We'd also like to throw in some Evanescence for mystical scenes.

A Place in the World

Taylor Swift

I don't know what I want, so don't ask me
Cause I'm still trying to figure it out
Don't know what's down this road, I'm just walking
Trying to see through the rain coming down
Even though I'm not the only one
Who feels the way I do

[Chorus:]
I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on
Oh, I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world

Got the radio on, my old blue jeans
And I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve
Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine
Could you tell me what more do I need
And tomorrow's just a mystery, oh yeah
But that's ok

[Chorus]

Maybe I'm just a girl on a mission
But I'm ready to fly

I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know
I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on
Oh I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know
Oh I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world

Oh I'm just a girl
Oh I'm just a girl, oh, oh,
Oh I'm just a girl

Make it Shine
Victoria Justice

Here I am
Once again
Feeling lost
But now and then
I breathe it in
To let it go

And you don't know where you are now
Or what it would come to
If only somebody could hear

When you figure out how
You're lost in the moment
You disappear

[Chorus:]
You don't have to be afraid
To put your dream in action
You're never gonna fade
You'll be the main attraction
Not a fantasy
Just remember me
When it turns out right
Cause you know that if you live in your imagination
Tomorrow you'll be everybody's fascination
In my victory
Just remember me
When I make it shine

Reaching high
Feeling low
I'm holding on but letting go
I like to shine
I'll shine for you

And it's time to show the world how
It's a little bit closer
As long as I'm ready to go
All we have is right now
As long as you feel it inside you know

[Chorus]

Everyone can tell you how
It's all been said and done (oh whoa oh)
That harder times will change your mind
And make you wanna run
But you want it
And you need it
Like you need to breathe the air
If they doubt you
Just believe it
That's enough to get you there

[Chorus]

Production Company
We have decided to go with Double Negative Studios. They did the last Harry Potter movie, so they know how to portray magical schools well.

Interviews

1. What is your movie’s name, and why did you choose it?
Our movie is Bridge Rivers. We knew we wanted something short and easy to remember. During a brainstorming session, Lucy came up with Bridge Rivers. I think it is fitting because the name appears rather normal and mundane, but the movie is much more than that. Ariel is bridging together two different worlds!

2. If you had to assign a theme to your movie, what would it be?

Friendship, because despite all the differences, Ariel still manages to bond with her schoolmates. It is also a 'Coming of Age' type of movie with young ladies discovering their true abilities.

3. Tell us something we don't already know about the main characters.

Jaci is a part of a triplet. Wolves are born in litters after all. She is the only girl and has two brothers. Also, Rosalyn, Ariel and Jaci's main antagonist, is a vampire who is highly allergic to Type A blood.

4. Looking back, are you happy with your casting choices?
We are glad that we decided on actresses who were familiar with each other. We were a little worried that Ariana might not be able to pull off the more serious scenes, but she did very well!

5. How open were you to improvisation on set?
Well, of course! If you are working with young actresses, there must be some room for improvisation.

6. What makes your movie different from others in its genre?
The characters in our movie show the difficulties of learning how to master the magical abilities and flaws they were born with. It does not focus on love between different types of creatures.

7. Moving away from the film itself, what makes your crew work well as a team?
We brainstorm a lot to bring out ideas for our movie and if we have multiple opinion we would vote. We also give our all in everything we do. We keep each other on task and always add on to ideas to make them even better.

8. What were your favorite parts of the filmmaking process?
It was a wonderful experience to work with a group so full of energy and creativity. Seeing our ideas come to life right before our eyes was truly amazing.

9. Is there anything you wish you had done differently?
Time management has been a slight issue, but otherwise it has gone rather smoothly. We may have to push the release a little later than we hoped as we finish up with the editing.

10. Do you think everyone should go out and see your film? Why?
Definitely! Bridge Rivers is a movie that is full of great dialogue, touching moments, and suspense. Not to mention the spectacular special effects! There is something for everyone in the audience to enjoy.

"Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind. Where those of wit and learning, will always find their kind."
