Kyrie Adderholt's Postcard:
Dear mom,

So I was trying to go back in time the other day to see Mozart in 1785. However, I guess I typed it in wrong 'cause I ended up in 1985 with a band named Mr. Mister. I've decided the 1980's are truly awful. Terrible hair, clothes, and music! I'd rather be stuck in World War II than go back there! Anyway, so while I was trying to leave, I was talking to the band and a lyricist named John Lang. They were working on their new album (if you can really call that awful noise music) and I inspired one of their songs! It's called Kyrie! When I got back to the present, I checked and it was actually a #1 hit for a bit of time. I was shocked! I had awful 80's music stuck in my head for like a week! I ended up travelling back to 1964 and hanging out with The Beatles just to get it out of my head! I'm never ever going back to the 1980's! How in the world did you survive it?!

Love,
Kyrie

p.s. They actually pronounced my name right! None of that awful Ky-ree stuff!

Gustavo Flores's Postcard:
Dear Mom,

You can’t imagine how much fun I’ve been having time traveling with my friends!

We have lived all kind of adventures, some dangerous, but all of them amazing!

One day, when we arrived to Ireland in the 1720’s, I had an accident in which I shrank along with our time machine (don’t worry, my friends later casted an Engorgio Charm on me, so I’m now back to normal). It was one of the most exciting and fun trips I had! We were strolling around the streets of Dublin, when something caught my attention. It was the sight of a man who I thought I knew, but how could that be possible? Carefully, I came closer and realized that I was seeing Jonathan Swift, the writer of Gulliver’s Travels!!! I couldn’t believe it!! When I was about to go, he looked down and I saw his shocked and puzzled look when he saw me. Then he just muttered one single word: “Lilliput”, and ran away! Could it be that my mini-me gave him the idea to write about the Lilliputs?

Love, Gus

Adeliene Cromwell's Postcard:
Caitlin!

You won't BELIEVE where I have been this past few days. Give up? The Titanic! I went to see if Jack and Rose really got together. Yeah- the movie totally gets it wrong.

They left me out of the movie!!!!!!

Yeah, my friends and I were on the time machine, and went to check out the food and stuff. But Jack and Rose were CONSTANTLY fighting. So we used some of our spy skills and we ended up getting them to fall in love. But DON'T worry!

either of them died. We gave up our spaces on the life boat so they could live happily.

Miss you much! Give Calvin kisses!

Scarlet Leslie's Postcard:
Dear Ruby,

My friends were more than willing to go see if the Hanging Gardens of Babylon really existed we traveled back to 700 BC .It actually took awhile to find the Gardens. The king who built them, Nebuchadnezzer II, was quite unwilling to reveal the location (since it was created for his wife). Well, we were able to see the Hanging Gardens and it was breathe taking!! There were so many tiers of plants and even a waterfall! I'll show you more pictures when I get home, assuming the photos survive the journey.

Scarlet

Your stories are short but sweet! And definitely amusing. I loved how mini-Gus was brought up again, and how Addie was apparently left out of the Titanic movie. You all definitely entertained me with your submissions! I was hoping to get pictures of these events rather than just the postcards, but you still did a great job and I'm glad you had much fun time traveling. - 21 TC

Lovely stories! I really like how you did individual postcards from your personal favourite moments, and then tied it all together into one. Very original. - 22 TC

Dear Elvis,

We had a great time visiting you! Thanks so much for letting us watch backstage at your concert. It was awesome to see the King perform live! And thanks for showing us those dance moves; we will definitely have to try them out at the next Yule Ball! While we were visiting, we also had a lot of fun getting shakes roller skated out to us at the local dive and trying on poodle skirts.

We are so glad you decided to come along with us for a bit! It was so funny, stopping somewhere in the future and letting people just get a glimpse of you so they were not sure if they had seen you or not! I bet we really confused a lot of people! Oh and went we went and saw Mozart play and you brought out your electric guitar! That was hysterical! Don’t worry; we performed a memory charm on the audience so you can still claim to be the inventor of rock ‘n’ roll!

Rowan says that her favorite part of our trip was when we found that Elvis impersonation contest and we all took part in it. She sang “Devil in Disguise”, Morag sang “Jailhouse Rock”, Kiri sang “Love Me Tender”, and Catriona sang “Heartbreak Hotel”. We can not believe that that guy who sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” actually beat your performance of “Blue Suede Shoes”! What Elvis impersonator is better than Elvis? Oh well, the judges may not know anything, but we still had a blast, especially since you leant us some of your jump suits.

Anyway, hopefully you can come along some other time with us and we will go visit some other famous musicians. Break a leg at your next concert!

Thanks,
Rowan, Morag, Kiri, and Catriona

What an interesting journey you had with Elvis! Now maybe that'll explain some of the Elvis sightings some people kept claiming, huh? I also liked the irony in which Elvis was beaten by an Elvis impersonator in his own impersonation contest. Since you didn't provide any picture to accompany your submission, I wish you had made up what you lacked in graphic with a longer story. Nice job though, hope you get back home safely! - 17 TC

LOL... poor Elvis. Interesting story, though I would have love to know MORE. - 15 TC
